Finest Kind's founder and CEO is an avid sports fisherman who has won many billfish tournaments on local, national and international levels. His vision of making available the "finest kind" offshore tackle to fisherman regardless of where they lived was the impetus to start Finest Kind. In 1997, with only 1500 square feet of combined warehouse/office space and just four employees, we launched our first mail order catalog.
The accelerated demand for our products dictated several inventory expansions as Finest Kind's reputation grew, and in 1999 we extended our reach globally by going on-line with an e-commerce site. By the following year, we were spilling out of our original space and made the decision to relocate and expand our business with the purchase of a full-service marina located in the Manatee Pocket.
